Macleod Church, Glasgow, began in 1865 with the erection of an established church in Barony parish, at the intersection of Parliamentary Road and Murray Street. It was dedicated as a memorial to Norman Macleod the younger (1812-1872, see Dictionary of National Biography), minister of Barony parish, from which it was disjoined in 1873. It united with Brunton as Macleod (II) in 1930, and finally terminated in 1944 on re-uniting with Barony. It was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
