The Home Missions Committee and Stirling Presbytery began to discuss the question of a mission in the Raploch area as early as 1933. Initially services took place in Raploch Public School under a probationer minister. Eventually a Mission Hall was built in Raploch in 1937, and it was erected as an Extension Charge from the Church of the Holy Rude in 1943, taking the name Stirling, St Mark's. Later in 1953 a porch was added to the building to form a chancel, and full status was granted a few years later in 1957. Some years later it was decided that a new church should be built, and the foundation stone was laid on 17 May 1964 and the church opened for worship in 1966. |
