Ayr Lochside opened as a church extension charge in March 1935, with the addition of church halls in 1940. The charge was raised to Quoad Sacra status on the 23 May 1945, and united with St Quivox Church on 6 September 1981 to form Ayr St Quivox Church of Scotland.
