This congregation has its origins as a Reformed Episcopal church, meeting in various halls until an iron church was built in Logie Den between Dundee and Lochee in 1874. The Church of Scotland acquired this building in 1885 and the ministry of Balgay St Thomas's Church of Scotland began. A new church was built and opened for worship in December 1902 and the old Iron Kirk was sold. In 1973 Balgay St Thomas's and Martyrs Church of Scotland united under the name of Balgay Church of Scotland continuing to worship in the old St Thomas's building. |
