The parishes of Kilcalmonell and Kilberry were united before 1560, although each parish continued to use their own church for worship. The church of Kilcalmonell was a prebend of Lismore but belonged to the Abbey of Paisley. In 1753 the lands of the parish of Skipness were made part of the parish of Saddell, but in 1870 the Court of Teinds disjoined Skipness from Saddell and erected it as a separate parish. In 1965 the charges of Kilcalmonell and Kilberry divided, and it was at this time that Kilberry was linked with Tarbert and Kilcalmonell with Skipness. |
