The parish of Monquitter was disjoined from Turiff in 1649 and the first minister was ordained and inducted on 1st August 1650. The congregation used a building gifted by William Cumine of Auchy and Pittullie, until a church was erected in 1764. Monquitter united with the Gordon Church in April 1931. In October 1971 a link with New Byth was established, later uniting in March 1996. |
