The Church of Scotland congregation of Abbotsford Hayfield came into being in 1929 when the United Free Church passed back to the Established Church. Although Abbotsford Hayfield was the official name given to this charge, it seems that locally the session was known as Abbotsrood. When the congregation was part of the United Free Church, it was named Kirkcaldy, Abbotshall United Free Church. A union took place with Kirkcaldy Dunnikier under that name in 1967. The Church of Scotland charge was in the presbytery of Kirkcaldy and the synod of Fife. |
