Dunning Kirk Session was formed on 9 February 1972 with the union of Dunning St Paul's and Dunning St Serfs. From at least 1976 the session has been within the jurisdiction of Auchterarder Presbytery, before which time it was within the jurisdiction of Perth Presbytery. On 28 September 1978 the session linked with Aberuthven.
