The church of Forgandenny belonged to the Abbey of Inchcolm and was a mensal parish of the Bishops of Dunkeld. Ministry of Forgandenny is recorded from 1567 in the person of William Lauder. Within the church there is an alter dedicated to St Katherine, possibly founded c. 1494, by Sir John Myrtoun, Canon of Dunkeld and Prebendary of Forgandenny. Forgandenny, which sits in the Presbytery of Perth, was linked with Forteviot on the 24th April 1960 and remained so up to the 14th April 1982 when the linkage was terminated and Forgandenny was linked with Dunbarney. |
