The erection of the Presbytery of Kelso was first proposed by the General Assembly in 1581 however the register of Kelso Presbytery does not commence until the 10th October 1609. The presbyteries of Jedburgh and of Kelso were joined many years later during the 20th century and the name Kelso was later dropped. |
