Services first commenced within the church of Walkerburn in 1868 and in 1876 it was granted status as a chapel-of-ease. The parish of Walkerburn was erected a number of years later in 1883 when it was disjoined from Innerleithen and Traquair and erected quoad sacra by the Court of Teinds. In 1975 Walkerburn and Innerleithen were brought together once more when a link was established between the two parishes. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Peebles until the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. |
