The earliest register of the Synod of Fife begins on 2nd April 1611. The original enumeration of the register however suggests that it must have commenced at an earlier date, the most likely time being at the induction of Archbishop Gladstanes in 1606. The Presbyteries served by the Synod were, St Andrews, Cupar, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.
