The first meeting of the Oban Town Mission Association took place within St Columba's Church Hall, Oban, on the 26th January 1899. The association was initially set up in response to the long felt need amongst much of the population of Oban for missionary visits within the poorer communities of the town, most especially targeting non and lapsed church-going Oban residents. |
