Church services within Oban first commenced in 1803 and a number of years thereafter in 1821 a church was erected, which later became the parish church of Oban in 1867 when the charge was disjoined from Kilbride and erected quoad sacra. In 1966 Oban Old united with the congregation of Kilmore and Kilbride, under the name of Kilmore and Kilbride Oban Old, and further union followed in 1983 with Oban Christ's Church Dunollie and Oban St Columba's Argyll Square to form the charge of Kilmore and Oban. The kirk session of Oban Old sat within the Presbytery of Lorn. |
