This congregation began in a corrugated iron church in Lorne Street in 1880. On 19th July 1884 the foundation stone of the present building was laid. (Designed in a 13th century gothic style by J Graham Fairley of Edinburgh). On 23 January 1893 St Paul's became a parish quoad sacra. In April 1903 an extension to the building was opened. In 1999 this congregation amalgamated with the congregation of Pilrig and Dalmeny and is now known as Pilrig St Pauls. The Lorne Street building ceased to be the place of worship, services now being conducted in the Pilrig and Dalmeny building in Leith Walk and Pilrig Street. |
