In 1837 a mission chapel was built within the Parish of Avendale to serve the district of East Strathaven and ministry of the chapel is recorded from 1833 in the person of David Burness. After some years however the mission chapel of Strathaven East was sold and the proceeds were used to erect the Drumclog Memorial Church. |
