The Fern Church, which was dedicated to St Aiden, was originally founded by Bishop Coleman in around 666, although the present church was not built until 1883. Ministry is recorded from 1566 under the person of James Melville. Fern was united with Carestoun in 1937 and further linked with Menmuir in 1966, it was then united with it in 1982. The kirk is in the Presbytery of Brechin and Fordoun. |
