In 1882 six gentlemen requested that a mission hall be erected in Cults. A committee was duly appointed and the site and plans were approved. Although there were some initial objections, these were overcome and on the 5th August 1883 the new mission hall was opened for worship. In 1896 Cults mission was disjoined from the parish of Banchory-Devenick, Peterculter and Craigiebuckler and erected as a separate parish, quoad sacra. At the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church the parish was termed Cults West Church of Scotland.. |
