The parish church of East Kilbride, which held a dedication to St Bride and which was rebuilt in 1744, formerly existed as a prebend belonging to the Precentor of Glasgow Cathedral. In 1589 the old parish of Torrens was united to East Kilbride. In 1929 the charge was re named East Kilbride Old to differentiate it from the former Unite Free congregation. East Kilbride Old, Kirk Session sits within the Presbytery of Hamilton. |
