The parish of Blairgowrie St Mary's, which formerly existed as Brown Street Chapel, was established in 1870 when it was disjoined from Blairgowrie and erected quoad sacra. The present day church was opened a number of years later in 1885. In 1968 Blairgowrie St Mary's united with the charge of Blairgowrie The South, under the name of Blairgowrie St Mary's-South, and the united session later linked with Bendochy in 1989. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Meigle until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
