history |
The parishes of Glenlyon and Kinloch in Rannoch were united to Fortingall in 1585, but were both disjoined again in 1845 (In 1639 a petition had been lodged for the lands of Glenlyon to be erected into a separate parish and disjoined from Fortingall but, owing to objections being raised, no further action was taken at that time.) Fortingall was again linked with Glenlyon from January 1954, and united to form the Parish of Fortingall and Glenlyon in November 1980. The linked charge of Fortingall and Glenlyon with Dull and Weem was formed in February 1981, but was terminated in August 1989 in favour of a linkage with Kenmore and Lawers (October 1990). |
