The parish church of Forres held a dedication to St Laurence and the session records ministry from 1683, in the person of David Ray. The old church was rebuilt in 1777 and in 1904 the foundation stone of the present day church was laid and the building later opened in 1906. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Forres, later of Elgin and following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Moray. |
