The parish of Craigrownie was established in 1864 when it was disjoined from Roseneath and erected as a separate parish quoad sacra. A church which had been built in the area in 1853 became the parish church of Craigrownie. Following the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the united Free Church, Craigrownie became termed Cove and Kilgreggan Craigrownie, and in 1952 the charge was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Cove and Kilcreggan Lindowan. The two charges were united under the name of Craigrownie and a link was later established in 1984 with Rosneath St Modan's. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
