On the 28th May 1838 a constitution was granted to a chapel at Barrhead and a number of years later in 1868 the parish of Barrhead was disjoined from that of Neilston and erected quoad sacra by the Court of Teinds. In 1929, upon the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Barrhead parish church was named Barrhead Bourock. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Paisley. |
