The old church of Nairn, which was known anciently as Invernairn, and which held a dedication to St Ninian, was rebuilt in 1658 and again in 1808. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1567, in the person of John Young. Nairn Kirk Session sits within the Presbytery of Inverness.
