In 1860 the first service took place within the newly erected Calderhead Chapel of Ease and a number of years later in 1872 the parish of Calderhead was disjoined from that of Shotts and of Cambusnethan, and erected quoad sacra, with the Chapel of Ease becoming the Parish Church of Calderhead on the same date. Calderhead, which was termed in later years Shotts Calderhead, was united in 1989 with the charge of Shotts Erskine, under the name of Shotts Calderhead Erskine. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Hamilton. |
