The old church of Weem held a dedication to St Cuthbert and ministry of the session is recorded from 1567, in the person of William Ramsay. The congregation of Weem parish church was, by decree of the Court of Teinds, transported in 1921 to a building formerly used as an episcopal chapel. In 1958 Dull formed a link with the charge of Weem and in 1965 this arrangement was terminated to permit union between the two congregations, under the name of Dull and Weem. A link was later established between the united session and Fortingall and Glenlyon, which was later dissolved in 1989 in favour of a link with Aberfeldy with Amulree with Strathbraan. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Weem, later of Dunkeld and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
