The old church of Auchterless, which was rebuilt in 1780 and again in 1879, held a dedication to St Donan and the kirk session records ministry from 1567, in the person of Robert Allardice. In 1985 Auchterless established a link with the charge of Rothienorman however this arrangement was terminated in 1993 in favour of a linkage with Auchaber United. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Turriff, until the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Buchan. |
