The church of Aberfeldy was dedicated in 1884, and the parish was disjoined a number of years later in 1897 from Logierait and Dull, and erected quoad sacra. In 1951, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, Aberfeldy Parish Church (which became known as Aberfeldy St Andrews after 1929) united with the former United Free Church congregation of Aberfeldy Breadalbane. The two charges were joined under the name of Aberfeldy and both churches continued in use after the union. In 1973 Aberfeldy formed a link with Amulree and Strathbraan and a further link followed in 1989 with Dull and Weem. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Weem, later of Dunkeld and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
