A chapel was built at Buckie in the year 1835, which later became the parish church of Buckie when it was disjoined from Rathven in 1876 and erected quoad sacra. Following the union of the Church of Scotland and the united Free Church in 1929, Buckie Parish church became termed Buckie North and in 1975 Buckie North formed a link with the charge of Rathven, however this arrangement was later terminated in 1980. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Fordyce until 1961 when, by Act of Assembly, the Presbytery of Fordyce and the Presbytery of Strathbogie were united together under the name of Strathbogie and Fordyce. Following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976 it became part of the Presbytery of Moray. |
