Kingscavil was first established as a chapel-of-ease attached to the parish of Linlithgow, however in 1944 it was united with the former United Free charge of Pardovan to form the session of Pardovan and Kingscavel. A link was established in 1965 with Winchburgh, which was later dissolved in 1997 in favour of a union between the parishes, under the name of Pardovan, Kingscavil and Winchburgh. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Linlithgow, later of Linlithgow and Falkirk and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of West Lothian. |
