The church of Livingston St Paul's (Scottish Episcopal Church), established in 1971, was the second Church Extension Charge to be included within the ecumenical experiment of Livingston Ecumenical Parish. The parish, which was founded in 1967 as an experiment in ecumenicalism, facilitates the worship of members of the Church of Scotland, the Scottish Episcopal Church, the United Reformed Church and the Methodist Church, all together as one body, under a team of ministers. The parish, which ceased to function as an experiment in 1997 and was set up in it's own right, presently consists of 5 congregations, namely: St Columba's, St Paul's, The Lanthorn, Carmondean and Knightsridge. Livingston Ecumenical Parish sits within the Presbytery of West Lothian. |
