The Kirk Session of Harthill St Andrew's was formed in 1953 by the union of the parish church of Harthill and Benhar and the former United Free Church congregation of Harthill Forrest Memorial. After the union both churches were retained for public worship and a link was later established with Blackridge. The Kirk Session sat within the Presbytery of Bathgate until 1964, when the General Assembly changed the name of the presbytery to that of Livingston and Bathgate and following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of West Lothian. |
