Waterside and Lethanhill were originally Church of Scotland mission chapels in the parish of Dalmellington, Ayrshire, the first minister at Waterside being appointed in 1896. In 1936 Waterside and Lethanhill, by then a church extension charge, became a separate quoad sacra parish in Ayr presbytery. It was in the synod of Ayr until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
