The original church at Killin was dedicated to St Fillan. The parish was united with Ardeonaig in 1617 and was in the Presbytery of Weem. The parish of Strathfillan was disjoined in 1882. After the union of the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland Killin was officially known as Killin St Fillan's to distinguish it from the former United Free Church Killin Breadalbane. The two were united in 1931 as Killin Church and the St Fillan's church building retained in use. Killin was transferred form the Presbytery of Stirling and Dunblane to the Presbytery of Dunkeld in 1945. |
