In 1610 the church of Forteviot, which was dedicated to St Andrew and which belonged, prior to the reformation, to the Abbey of Cambuskenneth, was united with the ancient parishes of Muckersie and of Mailor. In more recent years, in 1957, Forteviot was united with Pathstruie. The united charge remained under the name of Forteviot and a link was established in 1957 with Forgandenny, however this arrangement was subsequently terminated in 1982 in favour of a link with Aberdalgie and Dupplin. The kirk session, which is presently titled the Stewartry of Strathearn, sits within the Presbytery of Perth. |
