The Kirk Session of Gillingham New Brompton, ('Scotch National Church') in Kent which sat within the Synod of the Presbyterian Church in England in Connection with the Church of Scotland (later the Synod of the Scottish Church in England) records ministry from 1866, in the person of Andrew James Burt Baxter. In May 1924 the Synod removed Gillingham from the list of charges under its care, however in 1929 Gillingham St Margaret's became a Church of Scotland mission station within the Presbytery of England and in 1949 was raised to full status as an Extension charge. The congregation was later dissolved in 1988. |
