A church was erected at Craigmore in 1889, originally to serve as a chapel-of-ease. In 1902 however, when Craigmore was disjoined from Rothesay and Kingarth and erected quoad sacra, the chapel-of-ease became the parish church of Craigmore. Following the 1929 union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Craigmore became known as Rothesay Craigmore St Brendan's and in 1957 Craigmore St Brendan's established a link with the charge of Ascog. The kirk session, which sits within the Presbytery of Dunoon, is presently named Bute United. |
