A church was built at Crosshill within the Presbytery of Ayr in 1838 and a number of years thereafter in 1854 the parish of Crosshill was disjoined from Kirkmichael and Kirkoswald and erected quoad sacra. At the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929 Crosshill Parish church was named Crosshill Ferguson Memorial and in 1931 the charge was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Crosshill South. After the local union the session continued under the name of Crosshill and the old parish church became the place of worship for the united charge. A link was later established with Dalrymple in 1981. |
