The parish of Glenshiel, whose church was built in 1758, was erected in 1826 when it was disjoined from Kintail by the Lords Commissioners of Teinds. In 1968 a link was established with the charge of Glenelg and a number of year later in 1972 a further linkage followed with Kintail. The three linked charges subsequently united together in 1987 under the name of Glenelg and Kintail. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Lochcarron, until the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Lochcarron-Skye. |
