The Kirk Session of Edinburgh Burdiehouse was erected in 1951 as a church extension charge within the parish of Liberton and was granted full status in 1966. Church services initially began within the school at Southhouse, prior to the opening of a hall-church on the 2nd September 1951, the church of Burdiehouse was later opened in 1961. In 1989 the name of the charge, which sits within the Presbytery of Edinburgh, was changed to Kaimes Lockhart Memorial. |
