Church services first began within the Blackhall district of Cramond Parish in 1864 and in 1898 money began to be raised for the purpose of erecting a church there. A minister was appointed to the district and in 1900, once a site for the building of a church had been obtained, an iron church was erected and opened on the 4th March. Plans soon followed for a permanent place of worship and in 1903 a new church was opened as Blackhall Chapel-of-Ease, and the congregation was given quoad sacra status in 1922 as Blackhall St Columba's when it was disjoined from Cramond. The church was later enlarged in 1832 and the session, which sits within the Presbytery of Edinburgh, remains active today |
