A chapel was erected in the district of Poltalloch in 1862, which was later to serve as the parish church of Tighnabruaich when the charge was disjoined from Kilfinan in 1882. In 1930, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, Tighnabruaich parish church (later known as Tighnabruaich West) formed a union with the former United Free Church congregation of Tighnabruaich East. After the union the former East church and manse were sold and in 1957 the session established a link with Kilfinan. In 1983 Tighnabruaich united with Kames and Kilbride under the name of Kyles and the united session was additionally linked on the same date with Kilfinan. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Dunoon. |
