Colinton Mains was first erected as a church extension charge, the first service of the congregation having taken place in temporary hut-accommodation on Oxgangs Road in 1939. Full status was granted to 1944 and additions were made to the temporary church building in 1946 and 1949. On the 14th December 1952 the foundation stone of the parish church of Colinton Mains was laid and the church opened, and was dedicated, on the 24th January 1954. The Kirk Session sits with in the Presbytery of Edinburgh. |
