St Gilbert?s Church, Glasgow, began with mission work in Pollokshields, leading to the erection of St Gilbert?s Pollokshields quoad sacra parish in 1913. It terminated in 1942 on uniting with Sherbrooke as Sherbrooke St Gilbert?s. The church building, dating from 1908 and originally sited at the junction of Hamilton Avenue and Sherbrooke Avenue, was moved to Burnside in 1950-1954, to serve the needs of that congregation. It was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
