A church was first erected at Edgerston in 1838 and the parish was disjoined from those of Jedburgh, Southdean and Oxnam in 1855 and erected as a parish quoad sacra. In 1960 Edgerston established a link with Southdean however this arrangement was dissolved in 1973, in favour of a link with Jedburgh Old, and the two session later went on to united in 1991, under the name of Jedburgh Old and Edgerston. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Jedburgh. |
