The parish church of Edinburgh Abbey was opened on the 19th December 1875 and the quoad sacra parish was disjoined from that of South Leith and of Greenside in the following year, an endowment having been provided by money obtained following the discontinuance of the second charge of South Leith. In 1975 Edinburgh Abbey, which sat within the Presbytery of Edinburgh throughout its existence, united with Greenside, under the name of Greenside. |
