The parish of Amulree was disjoined from that of Dull, Fowlis Wester, Kenmore, Little Dunkeld, Monzie, Weem and Crieff on the 15th July 1871 and erected as a parish quoad sacra. The building of a church at Amulree had initially commenced in 1743, however, due to the Jacobite Rebellion in 1745, it was not completed until 1752, when it became a Royal Bounty Station. In 1947 Amulree was united with the Strathbraan portion of Dalguise and Strathbraan to form the session of Amulree and Strathbraan, and links later followed in 1973 with Aberfeldy and in 1989 with Dull and Weem. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Weem, later of Dunkeld and, following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
