The parish of Mordington was united with that of Lamberton in the year 1650, with the session being termed for a time Mordington and Lamberton, an additional union had also existed anciently with Longformacus although this arrangement was terminated in 1666. During the 18th century two abortive attempts were made to join the parishes of Mordington and Foulden however the two remained distinct charges until they were united as Foulden and Mordington Kirk Session in 1927. A new parish church had been erected a number of years previously in 1869. In 1978 Foulden and Mordington established a link with Hutton, Fishwick and Paxton. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Chirnside and later of Duns. |
