The Church of Rosskeen, which was re-built in 1832, was dedicated to St Ninian and was formerly a prebend in the Chapter of Fortrose Cathedral. In 1943, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Rosskeen Parish church, later known as Rosskeen East, united with the former United Free Church congregation of Rosskeen West. After the local union both churches remained in use for worship until the former East church was closed in 1948. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Tain until the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Ross. |
